Daimaru

The main shop of a long-established department store originating in the Kinki district is conveniently located adjacent to the south exit of JR Sapporo Station. All nine floors from the basement to the eighth floor offer a range of items such as overseas leading brand fashion items to casual brands, food items, interior goods, cosmetics, restaurants, and so on. On the eighth floor is the “Pokemon Center Sapporo”, especially popular among children. “Hoppetown”, the underground food street, is stocked with special products of Hokkaido and a large selection of confectionary in addition to daily prepared dishes and fruits and vegetables.

Not just a prefecture but an island of its own, Hokkaido is the most northerly prefecture and island of the Japanese archipelago. Arriving in Hokkaido, which is rural and bursting with breathtaking nature, means entering a world where vast national parks, towering mountains, and natural hot springs can be found at every turn. Come December, these natural splendors freeze over and morph into a winter wonderland.
