Sarubo Observatory

Observatory / Outlook
Sarubo Observatory is located on top of a low hill to the north of Lake Toro. Besides Lake Toro (the largest coastal lagoon in the Kushiro Shitsugen), visitors can also enjoy views over four nearby ponds (Sarurunto, Ponto, Eoruto and Makunto). This is a very popular spot for enjoying Hokkaido’s beautiful natural scenery.

    小さな駐車場にクルマを停めて、山を少し登ります。駐車場は最初通り過ぎてしまいました。登っている時に鹿がいました。
  • 湿原の中を走る釧網本線、でも国道が目障り

    塘路駅の北側、山道を15分ほど上るとやぐらが組んであります。ここから西側の草原のような湿原。南側の塘路湖と湿原を眺めることができます。国道や駅からも近いお手軽ポイントです。遊歩道の緑も楽しめます。

    釧路湿原を一望することができる展望台です。駐車場から展望台まで20分ぐらい山道を登るのでちょっと大変ですが、その分素晴らしい景色に出会えます。
