The house special is Kaisen Don (a bowl of rice topped with seafood), made with fresh fish and seafood delivered directly from the market and Hokkaido-grown rice; the restaurant offers more than 30 different varieties of Don, besides a comprehensive range of other fishermen’s cuisine delicacies evocative of the seas off Hokkaido, including rice-balls, sashimi, Red King Crab and broiled Okhotsk Atka Mackerel. Yanshu’s Japanese Green Sea Urchin, with its rich, melt-in-the-mouth, sweet flavor, is also very popular, whether grilled or eaten with rice as a Don dish.

The seafood is so fresh I’ve no complaints. Got to eat a slice of rock melon at 400yen. And tasted a grilled sweet corn. All good. On top of a whole king crab 1kg 6000yen.
