This building, a fusion of western and Japanese architectural styles, was built to be a rest station for the Meiji Emperor on his 1880 visit to Hokkaido. A symbol of Hokkaido's age of development, the interior is open for tours.

明治天皇が北海道に行幸された時に休憩所として使われた建物。当時は偕楽園として広大な広さを有していましたが、今はこの場所と向かいにある公園が偕楽園の名残です。清華亭の中には地元ボランティアさんがいて色々な話を聞かせてくれます。入場は無料です。興味のある方は是非来てみてください。

北海道大学の南側にあります。もともとは明治天皇の北海道行幸（ぎょうこう）の際の休憩所として建築された建物で、和洋折衷のデザインです、駅からは少し距離がありますが、無料ですので見ておいて損はない場所だと思います。

明治天皇行幸の際に休憩された和洋折衷の由緒ある建物。北海道大学の道路挟んで向かい側に建っております。札幌夕食からも徒歩で行けますのでお散歩がてらに訪れましたが、あいにく9:00-16:00の開館時間で時間が合わず、外観だけの見学となりました。松江の興雲閣や鳥取の仁風閣と比べると、やや小ぶりな建物ですが、やはり陛下が来るとなると、いつの時代も大事なんだな感じます。
