This cultural center is located a 40-minute drive from Sapporo Station. It is dedicated to run on the concept of viewing, making, and collecting to help create a stronger pottery culture for Hokkaido. They have a Pottery Art and Brick exhibition room, a workshop where visitors can try pottery themselves, and a library with a variety of materials related to pottery that visitors can browse as they will. The first floor lobby has a shop selling pottery and glassware made by city craftspeople, which is the perfect place to look for Ebetsu souvenirs. They have a wide selection of pottery made from Nopporo-sourced clay and other goods with a distinctly Hokkaido-sensibility.

展望台見物

1994年11月竣工の建物で、1階に有料の常設展示がある。今回は有料展示を見ておらず、展望室のみ見物。2階から展望台・望楼へ上がる階段があり、そこから上っていく。最上階は4階で、地上22mの高さから辺りを一望できる。訪れた時、見た感じ客は自分一人だけでとても静かだった。1階と2階の間はエレベーターが設置されているが、2階から展望台までは階段のみとなっている。
江別はレンガの街

江別市は昔から煉瓦工場が多く町並みもレンガをたくさん使っています。セラミックアートセンターではレンガに関する展示がたくさんあり、いろいろなレンガの積み方や昔のレンガを焼く窯の模型などを展示しています。世界のレンガの現物なども飾ってあり勉強になります。
陶芸体験

1人700円で500グラムの粘土が用意されており、茶碗やマグカップなどを作りました。初めに40分程講師の方からの説明がありましたが、とても分かりやすく丁寧でした。その後作り始めますが、すぐ横に講師の方もついて下さり、不明な点はその場で教えていただけたのでスムーズに作業が進みました。色を指定してその日は終了です。焼き上がりは約一ヶ月後です。完成が楽しみです。
