An art museum located near the top of Mt. Iizuna identifiable by its hexagonal steeple. The museum exhibits key pieces from the more than 50 year long career of Nihonga Japanese painter Eisetsu Shiratori, who was born in Komoro City and served as a member of the Japan Art Academy. The museum also displays works by Eisetsu's mentor Shinsui Ito, plus many works by locally-born artists and painters connected to the Komoro Gijuku school. Each year in summer, the museum holds an exhibition of work by insect photographer Kazuo Unno and, in winter, the museum hosts the Japan Art Direction Exhibition, which is only held at three locations nationwide.

眺めのいい美術館

上信越道小諸インター付近。小高い丘の上に立ちサイロみたいな六角形の塔がランドマーク。入館料５００円。ＪＡＦ提示で一般団体券４００円。小諸市名誉市民の小山敬三画伯や白鳥英雪画伯のコーナーもありますが、市民ギャラリー的展示も散見。美術館から見渡す三六〇度のパノラマは眺望百選。目を見張るものがあります。

名前の通り高原のてっぺんにそびえたつ美術館。「生きもの写真リトルリーグ2017」で娘の写真が展示されているとのことで訪れました。晴れた日は見晴らしが素晴く小諸市内を一望でき、浅間山の眺望もまた素晴らしかったです。
見晴らし最高、作品はすばらしい、施設はひどい

小高い丘の上にあり眺めは最高です、360度見渡せます。美術館に展示されている作品も見ごたえがあります。でも、建っている施設がまさにお役所仕事、とにかく建てました、その後は知りません的では、せっかくの立地も作品も活かされない。
