The Kutani Porcelain Art Museum Gosai Room
This museum was opened in 1982 and remodeled in 2018. Open to the public, the museum looks at the history of Kutani ware, gives visitors the chance to see masterpieces of the art form, and works to breathe new life into modern Kutani ware. The museum’s exhibition spaces are divided by the five traditional colors of Kutani ware (ultramarine, red, violet, green, and yellow); the ultramarine and red rooms contain the museum’s collection of Kutani ware masterpieces dating back to the Edo period, while the violet and green rooms are used for special exhibitions.
