Restaurant Takeuchi
This restaurant is in northern Kyoto's Maizuru City, the chef's hometown. It makes use of the fruits of mountain and sea from all four seasons to create cuisine that the couple running it hopes will soothes body and soul. They are supplied directly by contracted farms and fisherman friends, and decide the day's menu based on what's available. On days when they can't get satisfactory ingredients, they close. This shop is perfect for letting time go by as you sit and savor exquisitely flavored cuisine. It's about five minutes' drive from Maizuru Station. Look for the stylish red and white exterior.
