Rurikei Onsen Potepote Parkるり渓温泉 ポテポテパーク

Other Leisure Facility / Other Outdoors Facility

"This park was designed to be a ""Forest to Heal the Heart and Mind"" in Kyoto's highland resort Rurikei Onsen. It offers a wide open, relaxing space, that's comfortable like a walk on a sunny day. The park is outfitted with a wide range of facilities, including a glamping site and Highland Villas with a deep taste of Ruri gorge's nature, year-round light decorations, astronomical observatory, an onsen, and a bakery cafe. The park also has a barbecue plaza, a lawn, and enough fun to please visitors of all ages. Look for the cute illustrated boar, Ruribo."

Its wooden tea houses, shuffling geisha, and spiritual sights have seen Kyoto hailed as the heart of traditional Japan, a world apart from ultramodern Tokyo. Despite being the Japanese capital for over a century, Kyoto escaped destruction during World War II, leaving behind a fascinating history which can be felt at every turn, from the fully gold-plated Kinkakuji Temple down to traditional customs such as geisha performances and tea ceremonies, which are still practiced to this day.
