"This museum is located in Sanuma Uchimachi, Hasama-cho, Tome City. The museum's theme is ""samurai culture and the lifestyles of the people"". It exhibits the history of the local people from the Jomon period onwards, as well as the lifestyles of the samurai and citizens during the time of the shogunate. There is also an event exhibition hall and a hall that displays the everyday tools and articles of people of the period, as well as the former Watari residence, which displays items that belonged to Takatane, the 9th head of the Watari family."

登米市内、迫町にある小さな博物館。古い町並みなどが残る登米地区からは少し離れています(もともと登米郡迫町だったものが、平成の合併で登米市になった)。この周辺が、北上川の水運で栄え、またその洪水で苦しんできた歴史などがよくわかる展示がされています。

入館は無料ですが台帳に氏名をかかされます。仙北鉄道の展示会を開催していました。この日は学芸員による説明会のある日で所定の時刻に参加者が自然に集まってきました。展示物の説明を受けながら館内をめぐりました。受付で登米市民バスは無料で乗れると案内してくれれば良かった。

近隣のスポットと合わせての訪問をお勧めいたします。一生に一度しか来ない場所と思っていたので、良い勉強となりました。観光客も少ないです。
