This history museum is located Kakuda-machi, Kakuda City. It is situated inside of a mansion built by one of the area’s most prominent landowning families over the course of the Meiji and Taisho periods. The museum’s exhibits include archeological and historical materials pertaining to the region’s history and folk culture. Starting in mid-February each year, the museum exhibits hina dolls believed to have belonged to Muuhime, the second daughter of Date Masamune. Review of Kakuda City History Museum

TripAdvisor Traveler Rating

Lying along the northeastern coast of Japan, Miyagi prefecture is home to lashings of natural parks, oysters, and hot springs. While the bustling city of Sendai offers some simple city entertainment, it's the Matsushima islands that deserve the most attention, having boosted the prefecture's reputation as one of Japan's most scenic views.
