Uwa Rice Museum (宇和米博物館)
4.0
This museum in Unomachi 2-Chome, Uwa-cho, Seiyo City is located inside the relocated wooden school building of the former Uwa Town Elementary School. It features a number of exhibits about rice including old agricultural implements and specimens of rice plants. The museum also has a cafe where visitors can compare the flavor of Uwa Rice against brand-name rice varieties from across Japan. Other attractions include a museum shop that sells a variety of rice-related products and a blackboard room where visitors can scribble on the walls to their hearts’ content. Visitors can also test their speed and skill in a “floor-wiping race” down the former schoolhouse’s hallway.

Review of Uwa Rise Museum
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating

Ehime Areas

Stretched across the northwest corner of Shikoku island, Ehime is a nature-rich prefecture boasting beautiful coastlines and a rural center where mountains play host to 26 of the Buddhist temples that make up the Shikoku Pilgrimage. Matsuyama is home to an original post-feudal castle as well as Dogo Onsen, one of the country's oldest natural hot springs. The northern city of Imabari marks the entrance to the Shimano Kaido, a road that crosses six spectacular bridges and several islands, forming a route between Shikoku and mainland Honshu.
