The collection of about 2,800 pieces includes pictures, ceramics, crafts, and modern Japanese paintings collected by Furukawa Tamesaburo, a businessman and the museum's director. In addition to planned exhibits of the collection, they also have a high definition television showing video commentary in their audio visual room. The Tamesaburo Memorial Hall is located about three minutes on foot from the museum.

地下鉄池下駅から徒歩2分で行ける私設美術館。2021年11月平日に初訪問したが、たまたま私が行った日が悪かったのか、とにかく客のオバハン連中のしゃべくりがうるさかった。いったい、この人たちって絵を見に来たのか、お仲間と雑談しに来たのか、どっちなんだって感じだった。さらに最悪なのが、館のスタッフも展示室入口でオバハンと世間話に花を咲かせてる始末。常連客なのだろうけど、もしそうならここはいつ来...

池下駅から徒歩5分。1991年にオープンした美術館。入館料は1,000円だが「ドニチエコきっぷ」を提示すると200円割引となる。近代日本画を中心とした美術品を収蔵しているが、訪館した時は洋画家・藤森兼明の特別展が開催されており収蔵品を見ることはできなかった。少し離れたところに初代館長の古川為三郎が晩年を過ごした邸宅が爲三郎記念館として公開されており、日本庭園を眺めながら抹茶などを頂けるようになって...

名古屋財閥のかつての当主が収集した美術品を元に各種の企画展を催している美術館です。訪問した時は、収蔵品に関係ある作家の企画展をやっていました。高齢な作家ご自身も初日ということでおみえになっていました。収蔵品に特色があり、中世ヨーロッパの持祷書のコレクションはよかったですね。
