Hiking / Walking

A hiking trail located about 10 minutes by car from Mihama Interchange on the Minami Chita Road. The 11-kilometer trail connects Chita Bay in the east with Ise Bay in the west and takes about two hours and 30 minutes to complete. Portions of the Mikawa Bay coast have lovely foliage in autumn, as well as cherry blossoms in spring. You can start or finish from either Meitetsu Chita Okuda Station or Meitetsu Kowa Station. Certificates for completing the hike are available from the tourist center at Chita Okuda Station or the coffee shop next to Kowaguchi Station.

Aichi is a prefecture of great natural beauty with Nagoya city at its heart, a busy hub home to a labyrinth of underground shops and the 17th-century Nagoya Castle. Castles are easy to find in this history-rich prefecture, but the highlight for history buffs has to be the Museum Meiji-mura, where preserved buildings from the turn of the 20th century are displayed in all their grandeur in an outdoor museum.
