Shinkiro Road
"A road running north and south along the coastline of Uozu City. ""Shinkiro"" means ""mirage"" in Japanese, a nickname the road attained because of the mirages which can be seen along its length. The Sea of Japan is right next to the road, and, on clear days, road-goers can gaze up at the mountains of the Northern Japan Alps. In addition to being a popular driving course, the road is also a popular cycling and even walking destination. The road is also famously used as the course for the Shinkiro Marathon usually held in late April."
