Akatsuka Park
This metropolitan park, opened in 1974, is located a 10-minute walk from Takashimadaira Station on the Toei Mita Line. The park sprawls east to west from the Takashimadaira housing complex to Metropolitan Expressway Route No. 5. The park's biggest highlight the huge fountain in the center. Situated in the center of a water play area for children, showers of water pour from the dramatic fountain structure like waterfalls. This is a popular leisure destination, and in summer when open, one can see large numbers of children running around with bathing suits and squirt guns and other water toys. The park also has an abundance of untouched natural forest that will make you forget an expressway runs right next door.
