Oroji
A veteran tonkatsu pork cutlet restaurant founded in 1921. A five-minute walk from Shinjuku Station, this shop nestled on the back streets of Isetan is said to be the birthplace of tonkatsu. The specialty is ton-don, pork cutlet curry on rice. The hearty dish features a chewy cutlet covered with a simple, old-style curry. The cutlet is coated with a mille-feuille-like crust that's soft enough to cut with a spoon, so it's popular among people of all ages . It's often tough to get a seat at lunch during the week.

- Yummy tonkatsu, cute restaurant
- We shared a tonkatsu don and a tonkatsu curry. Both were very tasty and the tonkatsu sauce was also very good. There was a bit of a queue but it moved quickly.
