Harahoge Jizo
"A row of Jizo (Kshitigarbha) statues located in Moroyoshihonmurafure, Ashibe-cho, Iki City. It is said the six statues, jutting out over the sea, are there to provide salvation of all living things in the six realms, and at high tide they become immersed in the water. ""Harahoge"" literally translates to ""belly hole,"" a name derived from the round depressions carved out of the statues' bellies, and there are various theories as to the true reason behind why they were placed here."
