Senichi Hoshino Memorial Museum (星野仙一記念館)

Memorial Hall

This museum is about 15 minutes on foot from JR Kurashiki Station in the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter. Born in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, Hoshino played pitcher for the Chunichi Dragons. He also served as the head coach of the Chunichi Dragons, Hanshin Tigers, and Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles. He led his teams to four league championships and one Japan Series championship and has been inducted into Japan's Baseball Hall of Fame. The museum has about 450 items, including trophies like his Eiji Sawamura Award, memorial plaques, uniforms from different parts of his career, his cleats, photographs, and panel displays. 星野仙一さんの中学生・現役時代からプロ野球・楽天で日本一になった監督時代までの実物ユニフォームなど、星野さんの野球のお宝満載の博物館です。建物は狭いですが、野球ファンにはお宝満載!のワクワクする空間となっています。
楽天イーグルスの星野さんにちなんだ応援グッズが、数多く売られています。

倉敷美観地区にある、地元倉敷の英雄星野仙一氏を称える記念館。
11分のビデオで、星野氏を振り返ることができました。
高校時代や大学時代のユニフォームに感動です。
初めて買ってもらったグローブも展示されていました。
野球ファンなら、必見のです。
星野氏の偉大さを改めて実感しました。

星野仙一氏が倉敷の出身というのをここに来て初めて知りました。氏が中日で現役だった頃にはそこそこTVでプロ野球を見ていましたが、その後はあまり見なくなってしまったので、そういえばこんな時代があったという程度で見学しました。現物ユニフォームがいろいろと展示されているのが興味深いものでした。プロ野球ファンの方ならもっと楽しめるだろうと思いました。
