Noninji Temple

This temple is located just a 15 minute drive from the Sayama-Hidaka Interchange on the Ken-O Expressway. It is said that this temple was formed when the military commander of Hanno, Nakayama Iekatsu invited the distinguished priest, Kamaya Fumitatsu and established a small hut, and then the son of Iekatsu, Ienori, built the temple in order to pray for his father's peaceful repose. To the north of the main sanctum lies the Ikeizumi contemplative type Horai Garden selected as one of Japan's top 100 gardens, and is designated as a Municipal Cultural Property. Many flowers bloom in the garden in every season, but the fall foliage is the most recommended. Every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon zazen meditation sessions are held.

NHKの大河ドラマ「青天を衝け」でも紹介された寺で、戊辰戦争の1つの反応戦争の舞台で、渋沢成一郎・尾高惇忠・渋沢平九郎など渋沢栄一の縁者が中心となって結成した振武軍が新政府軍と戦った場所ということで、行ってみました。今まで歴史のある有名なお寺だと知らなかったので、初めて境内に入ってみましたが、思っていたより大きなお寺でした。本堂などに古さを感じなかったのは、飯能戦争で焼失した本堂を昭和11年に再建...
飯能市に越して来た時に能仁寺に除夜の鐘を突きに来ました

今回も能仁寺が目的ではなく前回の天覧山の紅葉と同じように、昨年できたOH！発酵食品の店に来た次いでに隣の能仁寺に寄った。前回は門からのモミジが真っ赤になって美しかった。天覧山に行く途中の庭園は有料の為パスしました。今回は桜の季節でした。飯能市に越して来た40年近く前には親子4人で除夜の鐘を突きに来て甘酒を頂いたのを覚えています。

今アラフォーの息子たちが小学生の時大晦日に来た能仁寺に訪問しました。参詣道の紅葉が綺麗だった。本堂の前の庭、本堂の裏手にあるお墓付近の紅葉も美しかった。能仁寺庭園は有料でした。最近できたレストランフェミーの隣が能仁寺です。その上が天覧山で何回も来たことがあります。飯能市中央公園にある子供の遊び場を通って駐車場に向かう。
