Murayama Sengen Shrine
This shrine is located in the Fujinomiya City of Shizuoka Prefecture. It is one of the many Asama Shrines throughout Japan, and was registered as a Cultural World Heritage site because of it being a constituent asset for being the source for making Mt. Fuji an object of faith and the inspiration of art. The primary deity is Konohanosakuyabime. Being that Mt. Fuji was formerly a site for ascetic monks, even today in the main sanctum's Dainichi Hall are preserved the Dainichi Buddhas reflecting the historic period when Shinto and Buddhism were taught together. The great cedar and great ginko trees within the precinct are desginated as Prefectural Natural Monuments.
