"Houri River Onsen ""Bijin-no-yu""" (祝子川温泉 美人の湯)
This day-use hot spring bathhouse is located a 55-minute drive from the Kitagawa Interchange. It is a natural hot spring at the foot of famous Mt. Okue in Sobo-Katamuki Quasi-National Park. The alkaline spring has sodium and hydrogen carbonate ions. The water is silky to the touch and is popular for its beautifying properties. It's also said to help alleviate rheumatism and nerve pain. Various leisure spots dot nearby the onsen such as Mt. Okue and the Houri River Ravine, and the onsen sees lots of mountain climbers. The eatery offers udon noodles, soba noodles, and dagojiru (rice dumpling soup).
