Hinatami Yakushido

Historical Monument
"This Bhaisajyaguru Buddhist temple is located a short walk from the ""Shima Onsen"" bus stop and Nakanojo Station on the JR Agatsuma Line in Agatsuma District, Gunma Prefecture. Officially the Yakushi Ruriko Nyorai, the temple was built in the late Muromachi period and was designated a National Special Protected Building. After WWII, the building was re-designated a National Important Cultural Property. The square temple hall has three bays, bears fine molding, and is one of only a few examples of Chinese style architecture in Japan. Often visited by those who have come to experience the area's therapeutic hot spring bathing and cure various ills, the temple is also affectionately known as the ""Pre-Bath Yakushi"" to many."
