Miyakomichi
A shopping mall located west of Kyoto Station's Hachijo exit. The mall consists of a single corridor with some 40 restaurants and other establishments on either side. Opened as the Kintetsu Meitengai in 1964, the facility was remodeled in 2008. On the east side of the corridor, the side closest to the station, there are many restaurants and shops selling local specialty products and other goods which make perfect souvenirs and gifts. Restaurants serving a wide variety of cuisines occupy the west side, the side which connects with Hachijo-dori Street.
