Kyoto Prefectural Tango Folk Museum
"A 10 minute drive from the Yosa-Amanohashidate interchange and a 25 minute drive from the Miyazu-Amanohashidate interchange. This museum is also located right next to the ""Tango Kyodoshiryokan"" bus stop. To locals, it is known as the ""Furusato Museum Tango."" The main building exhibition space introduces the history and culture of Tango and is also used to hold around five special exhibitions a year. Visitors can view exhibits on the Chionji Temple and Tenkyo-gijuku school as well as artifacts unearthed from archeological digs. Other highlights include the Former Residence of the Nagashima Family, a farming family main building built in 1840 which was moved here, and the Tango Kokubunji Temple Site. The museum is closed on Mondays and during the New Year's holidays."
