A five minute drive from the Ayabe interchange and a 10 minute walk from JR Ayabe Station. This museum, located inside Ayabe Gunze Square, is dedicated to Gunze, an apparel company founded in 1896. Opened to commemorate the company's 100th anniversary, the museum is currently divided into three kura warehouse exhibition spaces areas which cover the company's past, present, and future, and visitors can view exhibits such as examples of underwear made by the company and machines used to make thread. The Dokoan rest area, originally a building where the founder of the company lived with his employees which was moved here, is only open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. There's also an exhibition space which introduces a brief history of the company.

グンゼ発祥の場所

市中心にある無料のグンゼの企業博物館。広い駐車場に停めて旧グンゼ本社ビルに。多分、グンゼOBのボランティアさんの説明でグンゼの成り立ち、発展などを見学。その後に倉庫みたいな建物で絹紡績の仕組みから現在のグンゼ商品など展示してありました。
綾部市出身です。

実は勝手な想像で短い時間で見て回れるだろうと閉館１時間前くらい？だったかに見学スタートさせたのですが創業蔵、現代蔵、未来蔵の三つの建物に分かれてる展示蔵の創業蔵で殆どの時間を費やしてしまい現代と過去は駆け足でギリギリ見たって感じです創業蔵の２階のグンゼの創業当時のあゆみを読みこの時代にこんな人が居たのかと驚き全部しっかり読んでたら時間が-途中感動して涙でちゃいました涙もろい年頃ってこと...
