Morioka Memorial Museum of Great Predecessors
Memorial Hall
A memorial museum located a 10-minute taxi ride from Morioka Station. Here visitors can learn about the achievements of people connected to Morioka from the Meiji period onward. The museum was established in 1987 to commemorate the city's 100th anniversary. Exhibits include Inazo Nitobe's beloved furnishings; a sugoroku board game said to have been made by Nitobe's own hands; and a 5,000 yen bill featuring a portrait of the author, the printing of which ended in 2007. The museum presents 130 people, including memorial rooms dedicated to Mitsumasa Yonai and Kyosuke Kindaichi.

- 地域の偉人に関しての博物館です。金田一京助、米内光政、新渡戸稲造に関しては、一階に各々に特化した部屋があります。2階はたくさんの偉人が紹介されていて、郷土愛を感じる施設でした。

- 少し時間が出来たので,盛岡駅からタクシーに乗って訪ねてみました.平日だったせいか,すごく空いていて静かに盛岡の歴史が学べました.地味な記念館ですが,内容は充実していると思います.
