Kashiwazaki City Museum is located a 20-minute walk from Kashiwazaki Station on the JR Shinetsu Main Line in the city of Kashiwazaki, Niigata Prefecture. It displays materials related to an extinct Naumann elephant that was unearthed in the city. In the Nature Display Room, visitors can see a permanent display that features actual specimens of insects, plants, and other life forms that live in the area. They can also watch videos about these plants and animals. Another permanent exhibit is found in the Humanities Room, where visitors can learn about local history and folk culture. Another room contains a model of Mt. Yoneyama and its beech forests. There is even a planetarium with programs that shows the stars that are visible from Kashiwazaki on that day, with a theme of healing and solace.

他で見にくい木喰仏

十王堂、西光寺等にもあるらしいが、やってるかわからないので、より確実なのはこっちかなと思って行った。木喰戒を受けた木喰上人がいっぱい作った中のいくつか。バンコク寺院の像に比べるとほんとに渋い。渋すぎる。江戸時代後半からの作品のよう。

小学生の団体さんが、キャーキャー騒いでいて、ロビーも占拠されていました。せっかくのプラネタリウムも、上映中、幼児が駆け回り、しゃべりっぱなしで、私は、頭ぶたれました・・・誰からも謝ってもらえなかったけど・・・泣かなかったとはいえ、赤ちゃんも入場してましたので、きっと、年齢制限すると、御客がいなくなっちゃうんだろうなって思いました。２０数年前の米山信仰のビデオを見て、予算もないんだろうな...
