Lake Tsuburata

This reservoir was created when the Tsuburata Dam was built on Arakawa River system's Sakagawa River. Its many cherry trees have made it a popular spot for viewing the blossoms. The lake is stocked with Japanese crucian carp, and there's a pier with a fleet of boats. People come to fish both from the pier and out on the water. You can fish throughout the year with the inclusion of Japanese pond smelt in winter.

円良田湖は農業用水を溜めておくための人造湖で、周囲は4.3ｋｍもあります。竣工されてから60年以上たっているため、とても風情があります。ところが残念なことに、円良田湖周囲にある駐車場やトイレはへら鮒釣り客専用のものばかりで、釣り人にとっては最高の場所だと思いますが、一般観光客は冷遇されており、観光に不向きです。

円良田湖と書いて「つぶらたこ」と読みます。寄居町を横断する国道１４０号の山間にある湖です。しかし湖といってもそれほど大きな規模ではなく、沼と言った方が合っているかもしれません。この湖の楽しみ方の一番お勧めは、鮒釣りです。特にへらブナです。湖周辺には多くの釣りスポットがあります。もちろん有料です。手続きが必要です。また周囲の散策も良いです。あまり大きくない湖ですから一周を回れます...
