Tsukigata Kabato Museum
A museum located on the grounds of the Tsukigata Town Hall in Tsukigata Town, Kabato County, Hokkaido Prefecture. The museum provides information on the Kabato Prison, which was built in 1881 and closed in 1919. Museum facilities include the former Kabato Prison office; the main museum building, which contains exhibits featuring actual items used in the prison as well as a section where visitors can experience the labor the prisoners were put to; and an agriculture training hall which has exhibits on the plant and wildlife of the town and its industries.
