Roadside Station Sakurajima Hinoshima Megumikan
A roadside station located a five-minute walk from the Sakurajima Ferry Terminal. Situated in a location with a superb view of Sakurajima, one of the world’s foremost active volcanoes, the station is a convenient destination for people both driving and walking through the area. The station’s local products market sells Sakurajima’s famed daikon radishes and mikan mandarin oranges as well as other local specialty products, including fruits and vegetables, seafood, processed foods, arts and crafts. The adjoining restaurant serves Japanese home style dishes lovingly made with choice ingredients from Sakurajima. The popular Sakurajima ko-mikan (a type of mandarin orange) soft serve ice cream has a refreshing fragrance and rich, sweet flavor.
