A community-based café. The café’s coffee beans are roasted in house using lava rock from Kagoshima. The café’s signature dessert is its “Kiguma” (“Yellow Bear”) shaved ice made with an abundance of mangoes, a contrast to the “shirokuma” (“white bear”) shaved ice so popular in the region. The “Tenmonkan Parfait” is exclusive to the Tenmonkan location and consists of chestnut chiffon topped with orange sweet potatoes and sweet potato chips to represent the Tenmonkan dome.

ガイドブックにも載っており有名ですが、お店の雰囲気は昭和チックで、地下にあるせいか雰囲気も暗い。女子にはあまり人気がなさそう。ただシロクマに対抗した黄熊は見応えあります。でもシロップは甘めで、冷凍マンゴー、氷のキメも粗く身体が冷えきりました。最後に支払い方法のクレジットカード使えるシールがあるのに使えず、ペイペイしかダメでした。

鹿児島のかき氷といえば、言わずと知れた「しろくま」。ここでは、その仲間？の「黄熊」がいただけます。マンゴーをたっぷり使った甘くて美味しいかき氷は、かなりボリュームがあるので、女性1人で食べるにはお腹を空かせていった方がいいと思います。
