Ginza Kanoko Main Store (銀座 鹿乃子 本店)

Japanese Confectionery

Near the Ginza Tokyo metro subway station, this historic Japanese confectionery store and Japanese tea room opened in 1946. This store specializes in the confection called Kanoko, made by hand, using a special technique. This long beloved familiar Ginza sweet is lovingly created with chestnuts and beans of five differing colors. One can choose the Kanoko, packaged in a fancy Japanese style box, with large or small beans, and a choice of six varieties of sweets; chestnut, Ogura, Shibori, Uguisu, Kyo, or Uzura beans. Visually brilliant, the colorful sweets make a wonderful souvenir or gift.

The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It's hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world's tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you're in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
