Japan's only theater for traditional rokyoku storytelling accompanied by shamisen music, the Mokubatei is also used for kodan storytelling, comedy, rakugo comedic storytelling, minyo folk songs, and other theater and music performances. Tickets are often half price for customers age 25 and under, and long-standing fans and younger people enjoy performances together.

初めてにピッタリ!と常連さんに言われた座組さんと小屋の組み合わせでした。出入り自由で飲食自由。風情を味わいながら楽しく観劇できました。

この席に足を踏み入れた途端-昔々の半世紀超以前の映画館と同じような匂いに包まれます、繁華な浅草という地にありながらどちらかと云うと内部は地味で堅実な印象で、耳の肥えたお客さんがじっくり円熟の芸を楽しむのに最適な小劇場。
月に一週間の浪曲・講談の定席の他は貸席をなさってらっしゃるようで、以前には歌舞伎の竹三郎丈の朗読会があったり、大衆演劇や現代劇も観られる模様でバラエティー豊か。

これには驚きましたね。感激ですね観劇に!本当に昭和レトロの極致です。大衆演劇と言えば「梅沢劇団」の梅沢冨美夫程度しか知りませんでしたが多くの劇団が活躍していることを知りましたね。この日は昼の部12時から15時30分まで1部がお芝居で2部が舞踊ショー、これで1600円です。このコスパの良さには驚きですね。勿論あまり若い人は来てませんが常連と思しきおばあちゃんが沢山座っております。この日は「劇団美鳳...
