This science museum located in the Shibakubocho district of Tokyo’s Nishi Tokyo City opened in 1994. The name of the facility represents the six cities of Kodaira City, Higashi Murayama City, Tanashi City, Hoya City, Kiyose City, and Higashi Kurume City. The main attraction is its projector certified as the world’s “most-advanced planetarium” which can project more than 140 million individual stars. The exhibition rooms are divided up into themes such as “Meet the Science” and “Body & Senses” and are arranged to allow visitors to thoroughly learn about science, living creatures, and nature. It also has a break room that allows guests to bring their own bento lunches.

3年生、5才、2才の男の子3人組を連れて訪れました。
展示は体験しながら学べるようなものが多く、下の二人はお兄ちゃんに引っ張られながら一緒にいろんな実験遊びをして楽しんでいました。
長男が小さいころから何度か訪れているのですが、学校で色々勉強した今のほうが色々と楽しそうにしている姿が印象的です。小学生ぐらいが一番楽しめますかね。

プラネタリウム目的で訪問しましたが、科学館なので色々な展示や体験できるコーナーがあり、プラネタリウムの時間まで楽しく待つことができました。体験のコーナーが充実しているので子どもから大人まで楽しめると思います。ただ、もう少し分かりやすい説明があれば、その体験が一体なにを意味するのか理解できたかなと思いました(全ての箇所ではありませんが)。
プラネタリウムは素晴らしかったです。星空の美しさは当然ですが...
