This prefectural art museum is on the grounds of Ninomaru Park. It has a wide range of work on display, including paintings, crafts, and a collection of prints from Kumamoto-born artist Hamada Chimei. There's also a room with a reproduction of the decorated tombs found in the prefecture. The museum has high ceilings, and its large windows look out on the wooded surroundings. They hold regular programs too like museum seminars and workshops for kids.

熊本城の敷地内にあり、雰囲気はいいです。常設展はどうなのか、私もさっぱりですので、特別な展覧会が開催されているか確認してから行った方がいいですね。私も今回オードリーヘップバーン写真展が開催されていたので行きました。県立なので、なかなか有名な展覧会が開かれることは少ないですが、年に１回は何かあると思います。(^^;ただ、熊本ではいちばん大きな美術館だと思いますので、展覧会開催には適していると思いま...
細川家のコレクション国宝も

国宝の細川ミラーは思ったより小ぶりでしたが、紋様は中国古代のロマンを感じさせてくれるものでした。これは11月8日までの会期のいち前期10月18日までです。この他刀剣、絵画など地味ながら一見の価値のあるものが多数展示されてます。
別建物の展示のほうがよかった

二の丸公園から歩きました。本館展示と別建物の細川コレクションは別料金でした。結局、両方みたのですが、細川コレクションのほうが楽しめました。熊本城には何度も来ていて初めてでしたが、時間が許せばまた来てみたい美術館でした。
