This Japanese sweets shop is part of the Harimayabashi Shopping Street in Harimaya-cho 1-Chome, Kochi City. It offers a number of Tosa-themed sweets including their Tosa Nikki, which feature strained adzuki bean paste wrapped in soft rice cake, their “Ryoma ga yuku”, a milk-based sweet made with lots of milk, and their “Tosa JIROLL”, roll cakes made with eggs from Kochi’s “Tosa Jiro” local chicken breed.

はりまや橋商店街にある青柳本店です。
ガイドブックに載っていたのでいくつかお菓子を購入。「竜馬がゆく」「しまんとまろんぱい」と高知県らしいネーミングが良いです。どれも素朴な味で美味しかったです。ケーキ類、バレンタイン向け商品も販売されてました。

はりやま橋商店街の入り口に土佐日記の看板が目印の青柳はここが本店です。看板にもある土佐日記が定番、四万十栗を使ったしまんとまろんぱいなど四万十栗を使ったお菓子もお土産におススメです。

はりまや橋の交差点を東に渡った場所にある和菓子屋さんで、アーケード街の入り口にあります。和菓子の土佐日記が有名ですが、洋菓子も多くそろえておりちょっと嬉しい誤算でした。消費期限が迫っているものは値引きされているなど、地元の人にも使い勝手がよいと思いました。
