Himeji Park
"Himeji Park is an urban park in Himeji City that has Himeji Castle-one of Japan's National Treasures-at its center. As an urban space full of water and greenery that also has a historic atmosphere because of the way the park is integrated with the castle, Himeji Park was selected for inclusion in the list of ""Japan's 100 Historic Parks."" Besides Himeji Castle, there are various other historic sites located in the park, as well as Himeji Shrine, a zoo, an art museum and various other cultural facilities. There are number of ""parks within the park,"" including the Otemae Park at the entrance to the castle, and the Shirotopia Memorial Park to the north of the castle. Many special events are held in Himeji Park, including Yukata Festival in June and Castle Festival in August. During these seasons, the park is crowded with people."
