The Shiseido Corporate Museum is located around five minutes' drive from JR Kakegawa Station on the Tokaido Main Line. The Museum traces the history of Shiseido, which was founded in 1872 as a Western-style pharmacy, and showcases artifacts and materials relating to the advertising used over the years for Shiseido products, which made effective use of the beautiful curving patterns of the Art Nouveau style. The permanent exhibitions are arranged by theme, showing the development over time of Shiseido's product packaging, its advertising posters, and its typefaces, camellia logo and Roman alphabet logo, etc. There is also a CM Theater, where visitors can view Shiseido TV commercials dating from the last 40 years, which reflect the changing times.

With the giant Pacific Ocean to the south and the great Mount Fuji to the north, Shizuoka prefecture is blessed with some of the best views the country has to offer. The white sand beaches of the Izu Peninsula are a rare find on mainland Japan, neighbored by beautiful cliffs, tumbling hills, and natural hot springs. As Japan's largest producer of green tea, the age-old tradition of tea drinking is ubiquitous in Shizuoka, from the miles of tea fields to the old tea houses hosting traditional tea ceremonies.
