Kamagatani Sports Park霞間ヶ渓スポーツ公園

Park / Green Space

Kamagatani Sports Park is situated on the slopes of the Kamaga-tani Valley. In the center of the park there is a roofed rest area and a pond; the park is also equipped with wooden play equipment for children, with the 55 meter-long jumbo roller slide being especially popular with kids. There is also a large lawn area on which visitors can enjoy playing disc golf, etc., and a 780 meter-long jogging track circuit. There are cherry trees growing in the park, so in the cherry blossom season visitors can bring a groundsheet and sit on the lawn to admire the cherry blossom.

Tucked away in the very center of Japan, Gifu prefecture houses mountains, old towns, and one of Japan's greatest hot springs, Gero Onsen. A tour of the prefecture's traditional architecture will take you from the mountain-enveloped wooden streets of Takayama to the mountain village of Shirakawago, where visitors can explore 250-year-old thatched roofed houses known as gassho-zukuri.
