Mihonoseki Lighthouse
This lighthouse is located in Jizozaki on the eastern edge of the Shimane Peninsula. Currently renovated, the adjacent former office and dormitory is used for the Mihonoseki Lighthouse buffet. The 14 meter lighthouse that lit up in 1898 is the oldest in Sanin, and the dignified stone building was chosen as one of the top 100 historic lighthouses of the world. It is open to the general public every Ocean Day, and it is appealing because you can see magnificent views all the way to the town of Oki far from Miho Bay.
