Bandai-Asahi National Park磐梯朝日国立公園
A vast national park spanning the three prefectures of Fukushima, Yamagata and Niigata boasting the second largest park in land area nationally. The spectacular landscape is woven by many mountains including Mt. Nishi Azuma and Mt. Adatara chosen as one of Japan’s top 100 famous mountains as well as the Dewasanzan, Asahi, Iide, and Azuma Mountain Ranges, renowned as a place of mountain worship and the Asahi and Iide Mountain Ranges steeped in pristine nature. There is also an abundance of unique flora and fauna such as lilies, day lilies, and the Japanese serow, etc. The Gassan Visitor Center in the area provides multilingual brochures.
