Mojiko Retro Area
Street
Moji Port opened in 1889. As a base for trade with the continent, it is said that close to 200 foreign passenger boats entered the port every month in its golden age, and it was full of shops belonging to maritime companies, trading companies, and shops for overseas travelers. In addition to those buildings which evoke a nostalgic atmosphere, the Mojiko Retro Area has become an urban sight-seeing area with new art galleries and commercial facilities. Visitors can fully savor the romantic ambience of Japan’s old Taisho period with a mix of Japanese and Western influences.
