Minoo Park
This natural park extending along the northern mountainous district of Mino City has close to 1,000 varieties of plants and is inhabited by more than 3,000 varieties of insects. Visitors can enjoy a variety of nature in all four seasons such as spring’s cherry blossoms and winter’s frost-covered trees and icicles, but the changing leaves in autumn are particularly beautiful. This is also known as a famous place for its waterfall, and the Mino-no-Taki waterfall with a width of five meters and a drop of 33 meters has been designated as one of Japan’s top 100 waterfalls. A hiking course follows a mountain stream from the bridge at the park entrance to the large waterfall, and is constantly traversed by people throughout the year. The park is approximately 30 minutes by train from downtown Osaka.
