National Noh Theatre
This theater is a theater dedicated to the performing art of Noh, and is located in Sendagaya, Shibuya City of Tokyo. This theater was built for the purpose of preserving and promulgating one of Japan's traditional performing arts, Noh play, which has a history of over 600 years. In addition to the ongoing independent performances, performance for Noh appreciation classes with accompanying narration are also presented for the students and general public groups. Adjoining the theater, the Noh play library displays many of the treasured materials of the arts. This theater also is engaged in nurturing future artists for the Noh performing art.
