Minato no Mori Park
A municipal park built on the site of a former Kobe Port freight station of the Japan Freight Railway Company a 10-minute walk south from Sannomiya Station on various lines. Harnessing the knowledge and experience gained from the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, the park is equipped with various facilities designed to be used in the event of a disaster, including a supply warehouse, toilets for use after a disaster, water reservoir, and wind and solar powered nightlights. A large natural grass lawn sprawls in the center of the park, and this is surrounded by a jogging course. In the park's new sports ground, visitors can enjoy BMX biking, inline hockey, and inline skate sports like slalom and aggressive inline skating.
