Nenbutsushu Sanpouzan Muryojuji Temple
A Buddhist temple located a 15-minute drive from the Hyogo-Tojo interchange on the Chugoku Expressway. The temple's grounds span 1.8 million square meters and the main temple building boasts 10,524 sculptures as well as more than 374,500 engraved metal fixtures. The temple was built to serve as a sacred place for Buddhists around the world and the temple's principal objects of worship are a depiction of the Amitabha triad-Amitabha, Avalokitesvara, and Mahasthamaprapta. Six major festivals are held at the temple throughout the year, including a spring equinoctial memorial, Bon festival, and fall equinoctial memorial, and, with an advance reservation, anyone can participate in these.
