Kakurin Temple
A Buddhist temple located inside Kakurinji Park a 10-minute drive from the Kakogawa By-pass' Kakogawa ramp. The temple is believed to have originally built after Prince Shotoku visited the area on the invitation of Korean monk Eben. In 1112, the temple was granted an imperial scroll by Emperor Toba and the temple's name was changed to its current title. The temple owns a total of 45 cultural treasures, including two National Treasures, 18 Important Cultural Properties, and a variety of other national, prefectural, and city-designated Cultural Properties. A memorial service festival is held in line with the anniversary of the death of Prince Shotoku around the time of the spring equinoctial week in March, and during this time the grounds bustle with garden plant and metal ware markets.

-
