Hiokayama Park

Other places famous for flowers
"A park located close to the ""Hiokayama Park"" bus stop. One of the top flower viewing destinations in Kakogawa City, each year from late March to early April, some 1,000 cherry trees growing on the grounds come into bloom. While they are flowering, around 330 paper lanterns are erected near the trees, illuminating them and giving visitors the chance to enjoy the blossoms at night. A flower and greenery festival held on the grounds on April 29 attracts many visitors. The entirety of the grounds is the site of the Hiokayama old burial mound group, and in total five keyhole shaped burial mounds are located within the park's boundaries. The park also has an array of sports facilities, including a baseball ground, athletic ground, and tennis courts."
