Sera Art Gallery

An art gallery located a three-minute walk from Hankyu Railway Mikage Station. Opened in 1992 using the personal assets of painter Tomie Sera, the content of the museum's standing exhibition is changed four times a year; the museum also holds special exhibitions. In addition to being an art gallery, water painting, foreign language, and other classes are also periodically held here as well as concerts. Museum tickets can be reserved using the museum's official website. In January, February, and August, the gallery is only open on Thursdays and Fridays. The gallery is not open to the general public when concerts are being held.

外観は独特で美術館らしいですが、玄関から室内は邸宅という感じの美術館で、世良さんの家を美術館にしたようです。御影駅から歩いて行ける距離という立地も良かったです。

御影も山の手に行くとのんびりしますね。いい環境の中に女流画家・世良臣絵さんの個人美術館はありました。地下室と１Fは自分の水彩画を、２Fは師事していた小磯良平のデッサン画などが展示されていました。内心小磯良平の絵を見ようといったのですが、世良さんの水彩画がなかなか素敵でよかったです。私は草花の絵より旅行された時に描かれた作品の方に興味を持ちました。裕次郎のヨット、富良野、それに私の故郷・鹿児島の「光...

御影駅から歩いて数分。世良臣絵という女流画家の美術館ですが、草花の細密な描写が圧巻。いろんな種類の草花を少しづつ描き足して、そのようになるのだとか。独特の世界感だと思います。
